The reason I feel better now than I did before menopause.
I am Annemarie — registered psychologist, certified menopause coach, and someone who was completely blindsided by menopause.
I expected the hot flashes. I did not expect the 3am anxiety, the brain fog that made me question my own competence, or the bleeding that lasted a full month and left me severely iron deficient.
But the biggest surprise of all: coming out the other side feeling better than I had in years. More energy, more zest for life, more myself — and surprised by how much I still wanted from a life that had started to feel like it was running on autopilot.
I have a Master's in Psychology and spent thirty years in a creative career before returning to what I had always been fascinated by — why people do what they do, and what actually makes change stick. When menopause arrived, I went looking for answers. What I found changed how I work with every client.

The science behind the story
Many women I work with are surprised by what the research actually shows. Menopause is not a decline. The brain goes through a genuine reset — and what comes after is often sharper focus, stronger emotional regulation, and less drive to keep the peace at the cost of yourself.
Your brain is not confused. It is creating the conditions for you to finally choose yourself.

What I do differently
Most menopause advice stops at the WHAT. Eat more protein. Sleep more. Manage your stress. You already know this. Knowing it is not the problem.
The problem is the gap between knowing what to change and making it stick in your specific life — which is already busy. That is the problem I was trained to solve. Behaviour change psychology is not about willpower or discipline — it is about designing the right starting point for the right moment.
Not a long list of things to add to an already full to-do list. Practical ways to eat a little better, move a little more, and manage stress — one step at a time, built around your actual life.
If you are curious whether this could work for you, the first call is free, 15 minutes, and genuinely low pressure. I will ask a few questions, you can ask whatever you want, and we will see if it makes sense to work together.
No package pitch. No urgency. Just a conversation.
